This is an ultracritical Olivet Discourse verse because in it, we have a direct and irrefutable reference to the "The Great Tribulation" being the final worldwide cataclysmic tribulation. Without this verse, it would be easy to assign the Olivet discourse primarily to the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. But in Luke 21:35, Jesus looks into the future to declare to the disciples a worldwide entrapment of all people (no way out). Even as bad as what happened to the Jews and Jerusalem in 70 AD by the Romans, it was nowhere near the scale of what Jesus refers to in Luke 21:35. So it shall be far more than that singular event in history that included the destruction of the Temple leaving it in the condition that we find it to this day, that is completely obliterated.
